Arc de Triomphe (Triumphal Arch of the Star) Graphite
Inspired by the tragedy which took place in Paris on November 13, 2015. Everyone at the time was recreating their own interpretation of the Eiffel Tower which I understand is a good fit because it went well with the peace sign. My thought was to explore an alternative with a bit more connection. Hence the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile. Historically, it was built to honor the fallen soldiers who fought during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic War. Sort of a Tombstone if you will. A sign of hope.
